I didn't mind the old days, the quality of football was much higher and I never put much stock in the purity of competition amongst boys under 24. CIS football is a fringe sport, and it can use all the help it can get with having a more marketable product.

From another perspective, I was a "normal age" guy playing during that era of grown men. While it made for some very intense times, it helps prepare you for life in the form of open competition (no age cap in the workplace) and having actual adult mentors on the team.
