Default Jaradat returning to Canada to play at Western?

Rumours flying around London have Ahmed Jaradat returning from NC State to play for Western. If this is true, this is a huge recruit for the Stangs.

What are the rules wrt his return to Western? He never played for NC State, he was offered and enrolled in January, I imagine he took part in Spring Camp, will he have to sit out a year??

I believe he would have to have appeared on a minimum of two dress rosters for NC state to be ineligible to play for Western.

Hmm...quite the news indeed. I was at the NC State spring game and Jaradat did not dress...I believe he was injured.

While depth at NC State can be fierce, I know a lot of Wolfpack Nation was looking forward to him playing for State. IMO, a loss for State. Guess we'll find out how this goes soon enough.

He was listed as the #26 newcomer for NC State in the Phil Steele's NCAA preview but didn't crack the 4 deep depth at dline for any of the four positions.

I base that statement that the fans were looking forward to him playing on an occasion a coworker brought her copy of "The Wolfpacker" magazine into the staff room. Back in February/March, they were interested in him. But I guess being injured did him in.

We have a linebacker who has walked on to the team and will be entering his sophomore year. Lots of heart but not as physically big as others. Wolfpacker even had the prospective depth chart filled with a "to-be-named recruit" instead of him. In the spring game, he had 4 solo tackles and out-played some scholarship players...the coaches even told him so....but made it clear that he probably wasn't going to climb much higher with depth charts. So he'll stick it out, and probably will get into games against William and Mary or Duke. College football is a cruel game and some coaches have preconceived notions. I hope that TOB's staff didn't make things difficult for Jaradat.

A check of some NC State websites confirms that he is no longer at NC State. I'm not sure if he will be at Western but it is a good bet that is where he will play if he comes back to Canada.

I hope we get official confirmation soon.

It's tough when a school has a big roster like NC State. Being able to carry so many players (currently their roster has 84 players on it) hides some freshmen. Phil Steele puts him about 14th on the list of Wolfpack defensive linemen.

Jaradat played o-line in High School (well he played both ways) and I had heard that they were looking for him to play Centre at NC State. Wonder why they moved him to D-line? I know he has good speed for a big guy, but I didn't think he was a d-lineman. Either way he is a great recruit for Western.
