OFFICIAL HOLLYWOOD CIS TOP 34

I put the first poll in the Bison/CW thread [HERE]. I continue the topic in its own thread. Enjoy! (Even if you are from the OUA!)

It is high time for an update. The mid-term break is upon us for many teams, for others it will come next week. This week I am introducing a best vs best stat. First, a conference-by-conference ranking.

In the AUS UNB remains unbeaten and is a clear #1, both in AUS and CIS. Acadia, SMU, and St. FX are having good years and I keep them as "A" level teams. UPEI continues to be a notch below and we'll have to see how they are affected by their inner turmoil after Christmas. The Pids and Dal are not the pushovers they have been in recent years. I have them as "B" level teams. Moncton is a disappointment at the bottom, and the only "C" level team in the AUS. Here are the conference rankings, with record and "best vs best" records shown where applicable:
1. New Brunswick 13-0-0 26 / 5-0-0
2. Acadia 11-3-0 22 / 3-3-0
3. St. Francis-Xavier 7-4-3 17 / 2-2-2
4. St. Mary's 8-3-2 18 / 1-3-1
5. UPEI 6-6-2 14
6. St. Thomas 4-8-2 10
7. Dalhousie 3-8-3 9
8. Moncton 3-11-0 6

The OUA has a clearly emergent top 6. The problem is the lack of games that UQTR and McGill have played against such teams. Their grade could easily be "incomplete". One nice thing is that the "expansion teams" have done well. And even the weak sisters have posted some good wins. The best vs best records, with notes on other losses, are:
W. Ontario 5-1, and loss to Brock
Waterloo 4-3, and losses to Brock, UOIT, York
Laurier 2-4-1, no other losses
McGill 1-1, and loss to Toronto
UQTR 1-1, and loss to Concordia
Lakehead 1-3, and losses to UOIT, RMC

I ranked those 6 accordingly. I also have moved Ryerson into the range of the "B" teams. Nipissing and UOIT have moved to "C" level, with Windsor who may yet reach "B" level. Concordia has left the "D" level with a win over UQTR. Taking into account each teams record, with brownie points for beating a top 6 team, these are my rankings:

1. Western Ontario 13-2-0 26 / 5-1-0
2. Waterloo 10-5-1 21 / 4-3-0
3. Laurier 10-4-1 21 / 2-4-1
4. McGill 10-2-0 20 / 1-1-0
5. UQTR 13-2-0 26 / 1-1-0
6. Lakehead 10-3-2 22 / 1-3-0

7. Brock 7-8-0 14
8. Toronto 6-7-3 15
9. York 7-7-1 15
10. Guelph 6-6-2 14
11. Carleton 7-6-2 16
12. Ryerson 7-7-2 16
13. Queen's 7-6-1 15

14. Nipissing 6-8-1 13
15. UOIT 5-8-1 11
16. Windsor 6-7-2 14
17. RMC 4-8-3 11
18. Ottawa 4-10-1 9
19. Concordia 3-12-0 6

In Canada West the league is really severed between haves and have-nots. Lerthbridge, UBC, and Regina could be throwing in the towel which would be too bad. This year the league cut the playoffs from 6 to 4 teams. Usually there is great competition between 5 teams for 3rd and 4th.

1. Alberta 14-1-1 29 / 6-1-1
2. Manitoba 9-3-2 20 / 5-2-1
3. Calgary 8-4-2 18 / 3-4-1
4. Saskatchewan 9-6-1 19 / 2-5-1
5. Lethbridge 4-9-3 11
6. UBC 4-9-1 9
7. Regina 4-10-0 8

Here's how I put them all together:
