Thumbs up 2019 OFFICIAL HOLLYWOOD TOP 27

    OFFICIAL HOLLYWOOD TOP 27 - PRE-SEASON/WEEK 1

The 2018 season was a disappointment because in the aftermath of surgery I had to work hard and curtail my recreational computer use. But now ... It's 2019!

And to motivate the selections some vintage ladies of quality: Katarina Witt and Elle McPherson.

    Bishop's 13 Acadia 53

    OUA

    McMaster 25 Guelph 10
    Carleton 18 Queen's 12
    York 17 Windsor 34
    Toronto 30 Waterloo 33

    STEP 2: REGIONAL RANKINGS

The rankings show each team's conference record followed by their overall record. The games marked # are non-conference games. The games marked * are games against a jabroni.

    CANADA WEST

    1 Manitoba (0-0, 1-0) beat Reg#
    2 Regina (0-0, 0-1) lost Man#
    n/r Alberta (0-0, 0-0)
    n/r Calgary (0-0, 0-0)
    n/r Saskatchewan (0-0, 0-0)
    n/r UBC (0-0, 0-0)

Only one CW exhibition game this year, so not much shaking in the OHT27.

    ONTARIO

    1 McMaster (1-0, 1-0) beat Gue
    2 W. Ontario (1-0, 1-0) beat Laur
    3 Carleton (1-0, 1-0) beat Que
    4 Windsor (1-0, 1-0) beat York
    5 Queen's (0-1, 0-1) lost Carl
    6 Waterloo (1-0, 1-0) beat Tor
    7 Laurier (0-1, 0-1) lost UWO
    8 Guelph (0-1, 0-1) lost McM
    9 Toronto (0-1, 0-1) lost Wat
    10 York (0-1, 0-1) lost Wind
    n/r Ottawa (0-0, 0-0)

No OUA exhibitions this year, which is odd. Also odd that the traditional bottom four were all paired off against one another.

    QUEBEC

    1 Laval (1-0, 1-0) beat Sher
    2 Montreal (1-0, 1-0) beat Conc
    3 Concordia (0-1, 0-1) lost Mtl
    4 Sherbrooke (0-1, 0-1) lost Lav
    n/r McGill (0-0, 0-0)

No exhibitions in Quebec, either. Strange that Laval couldn't get a dance partner. So, is Concordia closing the gap?

    ATLANTIC

    1 Saint Mary's (0-0, 1-0) beat SFX#
    2 St. FX (1-0, 1-1) beat MtA lost SMU#
    3 Mount Allison (0-1, 1-1) beat Aca# lost SFX
    4 Acadia (1-0, 1-1) beat Bish lost MtA#
    5 Bishop's (0-1, 0-1) lost Aca

Wouldn't it be cool to rename this conference “Fredo”? Oddly, the teams have fallen into place rather nicely after just one round and an exhibition round. Pity Bishop's. They're took pathetic to even play an exhibition game against Sherbrooke.

    STEP 3: THE BLEND

    "POTENTIAL CONTENDERS"
    1 Laval (1-0, 1-0) beat Sher

    "COULD GO EITHER WAY"
    2 McMaster (1-0, 1-0) beat Gue
    3 W. Ontario (1-0, 1-0) beat Laur
    4 Carleton (1-0, 1-0) beat Que
    5 Manitoba (0-0, 1-0) beat Reg#
    6 Montreal (1-0, 1-0) beat Conc
    7 Windsor (1-0, 1-0) beat York
    8 Queen's (0-1, 0-1) lost Carl
    9 Waterloo (1-0, 1-0) beat Tor
    10 Concordia (0-1, 0-1) lost Mtl
    11 Regina (0-0, 0-1) lost Man#
    12 Laurier (0-1, 0-1) lost UWO
    13 Guelph (0-1, 0-1) lost McM
    14 Sherbrooke (0-1, 0-1) lost Lav
    15 Saint Mary's (0-0, 1-0) beat SFX#

    "JABRONIS-IN-WAITING"
    16 St. FX (1-0, 1-1) beat MtA lost SMU#
    17 Mount Allison (0-1, 1-1) beat Aca# lost SFX
    18 Acadia (1-0, 1-1) beat Bish lost MtA#
    19 Toronto (0-1, 0-1) lost Wat
    20 York (0-1, 0-1) lost Wind
    21 Bishop's (0-1, 0-1) lost Aca

    "THE UNRANKED"
    n/r Alberta (0-0, 0-0)
    n/r Calgary (0-0, 0-0)
    n/r McGill (0-0, 0-0)
    n/r Ottawa (0-0, 0-0)
