Make really big snowballs and have strong young men roll the snow off the field. I remember seeing this strategy used one day in the week before the OUA semi-finals in 1999. The news crews showed the Laurier players rolling the really big snowballs.

OTOH, I was at a CWOSSA semi at Jacob Hespeler (aka, the Jake) and they played 2 semi-final games on a very snowy field. It was not packing snow that time. In fact, the windchill at game time was around -16.
