    Default Week 6

    OFFICIAL HOLLYWOOD TOP 27 - WEEK 6

This last week there were some surprise results, creating many more ranking “loops” in every conference. With Thanksgiving next, we must all sit back and appreciate the hard-working farm gals out there. Such as Hillary Fisher.

    STEP 2: REGIONAL RANKINGS

The rankings show each team's conference record followed by their overall record. The games marked # are non-conference games. The games marked * are games against a jabroni.

Those big tractor wheels are eye-catching.

    CANADA WEST

1 Calgary (5-0, 5-1) beat Alta Reg Man Sask UBC lost Reg#
2 Regina (3-2, 4-2) beat Cal# UBC Alta Sask lost Cal Man
3 UBC (3-2, 4-2) beat Alta# Man Sask Alta lost Reg Cal
4 Saskatchewan (2-3, 2-4) beat Man Alta lost McM# UBC Cal Reg
5 Alberta (1-4, 1-5) beat Man lost UBC# Cal Sask Reg UBC
6 Manitoba (1-4, 1-4) beat Reg lost Sask UBC Cal Alta

Calgary and Regina overcame opponents hoping for a leap-frog, and at the other end the Evil Monkeys finally got a win. You knew it had to be coming. This also creates a lot of loops in the rankings.

A tractor with a comfortable seat is worth its weight in gold come harvest time.

    ONTARIO

1 W. Ontario (6-0, 6-0) beat York* Gue McM Wind* Que Laur
2 McMaster (4-1, 5-1) beat Sask# Carl Ott Gue York* lost UWO
3 Laurier (4-1, 4-2) beat Tor* Carl Que Wat lost Con# UWO
4 Carleton (2-3, 2-4) beat Que Ott lost Lav# McM Laur Wat
5 Ottawa (4-2, 4-2) beat Gue Que York* Wind* lost McM Carl
6 Guelph (3-3, 5-3) beat SFX# MtA# Wind* Tor* Wat lost Ott UWO McM
7 Waterloo (4-2, 4-2) beat Wind* York* Tor* Carl lost Laur Gue
    8 Queen's (1-4, 2-4) beat McG# Wind* lost Car Ott Laur UWO
9 York (1-4, 1-5) beat Tor* lost Sher# UWO Wat Ott McM
10 Toronto (1-4, 1-5) beat Wind* lost Mtl# Lau Wat Gue York*
11 Windsor (0-6, 0-6) lost Wat Tor* Gue UWO Ott Que

The OUA had been falling into place every week, until now. The big games were Cartoon U beating UfO, and Guelph bring Waterloo back to Earth. Those 4 now form a mid-block, all of whom have beaten the others. How have they fared against one another?

    Carl 1-1
    Ott 1-1
    Gue 1-1
    Wat 1-1

Jeez. Well, Cartoon U and UfO have at least beaten half-decent Queen's so they go up top, and Guelph and Waterloo follow. Of course, those teams can easily switch in the coming weeks since they are basically in a dead heat right now.

It takes great horticultural skill to farm in high heels.

    QUEBEC

1 Montreal (4-0, 5-0) beat Tor# Con Lav Sher McG
2 Laval (4-1, 5-1) beat Car# Sher McG Con McG lost Mtl
3 Concordia (2-3, 3-3) beat Lau# Sher McG lost Mtl Lav Sher
4 McGill (1-4, 1-5) beat Sher lost Que# Lav Con Mtl Lav
5 Sherbrooke (1-4, 2-4) beat York# Con lost Lav Con McG Mtl

The Bees were looking like a sleeper team. Maybe that's the problem. They fell asleep and now hav a split against Sherbrooke. So we have another loop. And against one another they are:

    Con 2-1
    McG 1-1
    Sher 1-2

When half mounted on a tractor one can get a great look out over the fields.

    ATLANTIC

    1 Saint Mary's (5-0, 6-0) beat Aca# SFX Bish Aca MtA SFX
2 Acadia (3-2, 3-3) beat Bish SFX MtA lost SMU# MtA SMU
    3 St. F.X. (2-3, 2-5) beat MtA Bish lost Gue# MtA# SMU Aca SMU
4 Bishop's (1-3, 1-3) beat MtA lost Aca SMU SFX
5 Mount Allison (1-4, 2-5) beat SFX# Aca lost Gue# SFX Bish SMU Aca

Mount Allison sinks with another loss. The rest hold firm.

    STEP 3: THE BLEND

Smiling whilst at work makes the day fly by.

    "JABRONIS"
25 York (1-4, 1-5) beat Tor* lost Sher# UWO Wat Ott McM
26 Toronto (1-4, 1-5) beat Wind* lost Mtl# Lau Wat Gue York*
27 Windsor (0-6, 0-6) lost Wat Tor* Gue UWO Ott Que

Calgary's unbeaten run through the CW gives them #1 overall. All the conferences now have a “loop” effect. So rankings become a challenge. Some winnowing has cut back the upper blob, and overall teams have been moved down a bit. The lower blob teams could easily become ham'n'eggers and vice versa.
