2005 Hawks had a mobile QB who ran into defenders (didn't slide) with a decent arm, that was Pyear's style. While the OL wasn't big they were fast and they used that to their advantage against the Huskies - many expected the smaller OL to get worked over but that wasn't the case. They also had a stable of recs to go to like MAC has this year, and three backs they could rely upon. They weren't too far off the mark of what schools are doing right now (likely also since Ptaszek has run two of the recent Vanier winning offences).

The offences in the OUA are very west coast in nature, which is likely one of the main reasons why so many QBs are attracted to the conference - plenty of opportunities for passing. Ontario keeps a lot of their best QBs in province, and also attract some good ones from elsewhere (looking at Sacobie and Gibbons, for example). Personally I don't see Ontario's edge on top quarterbacks going away any time soon either, at least with the ways the majority of the teams are structured.
