Just throwing in a plug for my old 'hood.

Not only did Dundas win Hockeyville 2010, but they'll be in the Allan Cup later this month. My brother used to be the icemaker (stationary engineer) at the G.L.Grightmire arena, although he's now retired.

This is the arena where Roger Neilson (of Roger's House) briefly played hockey while attending McMaster University (back when they had a hockey team, named the McMaster Marlins).

Best of Luck to the Real McCoys in the Allan Cup! GO DUNDAS!

Ah, my good ol' home town down in the valley! :)

Couldn't be happier about Hockeyville - I was actually there in attendance for the announcement itself at J.L Grightmire Arena (formerly Market St. Arena for all those who haven't been in the area for a while).

Now news that the Real McCoy's are back in the Allan Cup once again is great! (made it back a few years ago as well, in '03 IIRC?). The team used to be coached by former Leafs Captain Rick Vaive for a few years, my youngest brother met him and got some autographs after a game.

Anyways best of luck to Dundas at the Allan Cup!

Hey GHF --- Didn't realize you were a valley lad! (I grew up in Dundas, and now I'm an Ottawa Valley lad :D)

I saw recently that a few guys at Mac were playing some sort of intra-college hockey (including teams from some of the nearby Community Colleges) and were after Jiles at Mac to resurrect the McMaster Hockey team. I wish he would. (I thought that when she was there that Therese Quigley was working with the Hamilton Bulldogs on trying to get an arena built, to be shared by the Bulldogs and Mac. Doesn't seem to be much happening on that front.)

What I never understood was why Mac didn't use the Centennial Arena in Dundas for Varsity hockey. Its very close to campus, and would be a good start. It would be great to see Mac get back into hockey.

Anyway, I'll be keeping an eye on how the McCoys do!
