Baby, This Could Be The Last Time...

Man! I'm really starting to hate that song...

Reminds me too much it could be one of the last times we Easterners travel to Antiterlock land to play CIS football... It will be for the X-Men...

Sometimes, I like the "in" thing, like INterlock. Sometimes, I just hate it, like INgonish

http://www.cisfootball.org/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=4976 (post 94 for lurkers)

Anyway, on the plus side, the X-Men get one last chance to avenge their humiliating egg laying loss of 3 years to the Stingers and make a strong statement showing beyond any reasonable doubt that they (the X-Men) belong to the Top 20 Elite CIS football teams.

Timing is bad for the Stingers. They have the same W - L record as the Varsity Blues & it doesn't look as if they'll manage ONE WIN this season in the strong Q conference.

I really feel for Stingers fans... I've never been there before but the Twin has and it's not pretty.

Being the kind person that I am, I have arrange for a strong contingent of X parents and fans to hold a therapy session for Bee hive residents before the game, at the same spot where I tailgated by myself 3 years ago because Marton, Bizz, Vengeur Masqué and the Cutie failed to show up  Location details to follow.

We'll bring enough crying towels, purple pills, inflatable dolls and over-proof medication in the liquid form to sustain Stingers fans for the rest of the season.

Now, for the rest of the Q fans, in particular the ones from teams weaker than the Rouge And/Or, who know that they're wasting another season trying to compete in that division, I challenge you to come out in force in this thread, show your support for the Bumble Bees, have some fun for a change and learn about a long tradition of AUS football - THE AVATAR challenge.

Or, should another Avatar Challenge be thrown in other interlock games this week,

Sep 26 1:00 PM Sherbrooke Saint Mary's
Sep 26 1:00 PM McGill Mount Allison
Sep 26 1:00 PM Acadia Montréal
then join in and support your team. I expect that some SMUck will throw a challenge this week anyway, just so they're not outdone again by X...

I also have a lot of sympathy for Rouge And/Or fans, who are constantly deprived from taking part in Avatar Challenges unless their team plays the Eastcoasters, but who just LOVE to hijack our challenge threads with their usually irrelevent comments (should I put a  here or a :D?) Oh well! I'll fix it later IF some R&O fan(s) post(s)

So, Milo fans, here is your chance to support a Q team you love against the world-hated Antigonish Assassins... But if you do, your Avatar is on the line & you'll have to wear the X one with pride after our win.

I'M IN
:D :D :D

Well, it sure looks like Bees' supporters are really worried of being stung badly if they accept Avatar Challenges on this game.

Can't say I blame them 'cause they'd be the laughing stock of fans when they sport a big X for a week on this forum, knowing that Q fans in particular would make a point of rubbing it in.

So, although X fans have too much couth to call you and the rest of the Q board members CHICKENS, but not enough not to think you are... :D, I have been tasked with posting the following:

The large delegation of X fans from across Canada & the States going to the game are pleased to invite you & fans from other teams to the Coffee St. Park for a special "coffee" before the game. I hope the park is still there

To avoid attracting undue attention to your presence and to mingle well with the park's resident winos, just follow the usual routine:

Park first
Wear your team's colour jacket or jersey inside out
Bring your "coffee" in your purse (guys can use a paper or canvas bag)
Bring your pre-cooked steak or burger or hot dog in your back pocket
Don't light any fire
Whisper instead of talking in a normal voice to avoid attracting police attention
Shout only while police cars, ambulances or fire truck are driving by

X-fans should get there about 3 hours before kick off. Marc can vouch that they're really friendly people - at the last X visit, he sat with a few X old timers from the Montreal Alumni Chapter who still wonder how he managed to get home ... :D ;)

Tonton & Bizz: Gents, I expected no less from great Oreo fans :D

You got plenty of guts and, like X fans, you're not afraid to lay it on the line in spite of insurmountable odds.

Stingers' fans, on the other hand, they can't talk the talk, and they can't walk the walk, or some other stupid saying I'm not too familiar with... :D

Who the hell is We? Is that Oreo fans who consider themselves to be Gents?

What does that say about my friend Tonton?

I think TONTON is the ONLY Oreo Gent. He UNDERSTANDS the plight of X-Men fans and KNOWS that they are TRUE fans who strive to SHARE THE SUFFERING in the frequent demise of the team they support.

Why the heck would anyone want to ROB defenseless X fans of their suffering?

Plea to the « good » dot.org members.

I have a major problem here. My Twin was really heart broken when he read Marton’s post in this thread :(

For the few years he’s been a member of this forum, he felt that there was a “friendly” rivalry amongst members, regardless of the team one cheers for. He readily and often acknowledge that the R&O was the best team in the CIS, except when it lost to SMU at some bowl in Halifax back in 2007, and confided to me he’d be a Laval fan if…

He also believed that the dot.org community extends way beyond the rivalries we witness on the playing field in the active season. His philosophy has always been:

If you don’t have the built, the smarts, the looks or the mental strength to play CIS football, the least you can do is to support a team of your choosing.

And we all know that the only thing LT lacked to play the game was the looks.

He felt that charitable fans of STRONGER teams would take pity on those of WEAKER teams and would SYMPATIZE with them rather than RIDICULE them. That's how he convinced me to support the Mounties, not that X was a strong team when I joined the forum...

After replying to Marton’s post shortly after 10 AM (central time) yesterday, he drove to the ATM & cleaned up his bank account, then called me from his favourite Pub to come & get the car he bought last month after driving the family van through a red light into the side of a Montreal transit bus.

I don’t know where he went after the Pub closed. He never came home. He doesn’t answer his cell phone nor does he reply to text messages. Nothing about him in today’s paper either. Of concern: the Pub is reputed to be infested with cougars since BigJake became a regular there and when drinking, LT wears the pink-tinted glasses he uses when watching X play…

I’m really concerned that he’ll take the low road and "pull a WINESKIN" :o. I thought that either Wineskin or Capt Morgan could be of assistance, but they don’t seem to care, as neither is answering their private line (902-555-1212) when call display shows my phone number.

Really bothers me ‘cause, on one hand, we may miss LT’s wet humour on the forum but, on the other hand, we may be rid of him for good unless he registers “The Axe Triplet”, which I don’t want to see happen ‘cause that would take away from my very limited posting time. Just think that I’ve been a member of this forum since August 4, 2007, & I only have 105 posts to my credit, including this one.

Although I personally can’t stand my Twin brother (it’s a family thing), I kind of feel bad for him, well, a little. His outlook on life has likely been permanently damaged. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if he decided to move to the Rock rather than QC next month.

Now, everyone who personally knows me or read my few posts on this forum knows I’m a peaceful person. Well, no more.

I hereby pledge that I will avenge this affront to LT by mobilizing all possible resources available to the Mounties so that they will inflict the first lost in modern history the R&O suffers in its own house and, people, that day is October 17.

If you have a solution besides getting involved in this Avatar challenge, please post it or PM it to me.

Personal message to LT’s good friend Tonton:

LT talked very fondly of you when he turned the car keys over to me at the Pub. He said you have more guts than all the Oreos put together.

He wants me to ask you how much you want for the ball cap he took off your bald head to beat you up with when Laval finally managed to score an offensive TD against SMU at the PEPS a couple of years ago. I’ll pay whatever you want for it as I doubt that LT will have any $$$ left when he’s eventually up for bail...

Considering LT is craving desperately, I will oblige and accept the challenge that the Bees will destroy the Blue men, you know, the ones with a target on their helmet.

I will also ask Uncle Gerry to tell his boys not to be too hard on those stickers cause we all know StFX has already gone overbudget with the logos.

As those French Mousqueteers once said :

Very HUMANE on your part, Sir.

I'll do my best to pass this on to LT, but I fear it could be too late... :o

Just got back from the bank to freeze his credit cards before he blows all his $$$ on cougar peltry... :(

I'm afraid it was too late, though. Last night, he bought 26 tickets for the Bills game Saturday against the Saints and also chartered a bus...

And the BBQ behind out place has disappeared...

That's a really stupid move on his part. A few years back, he was the first X fan ever ejected from a Bills game & I know he was wearing his X-Men regalia yesterday when he drove to the Pub ...

That is enough taunting already!

First, in his ethylic delirium, LT seems to have Tonton confused with me. I was the one savagely beat upon with my own ball cap when he could not contain himself after another spectacular touchdown by the R&O. Nevertheless, I am called out: and I'm in.

Second, if this is to mean something, I'm now a Stingers fan for the week at least. Not a burden, really, I've always liked this team a lot (I'm a Laval graduate, so, I really have no choice but to be a R&O fan most of the time, you understand ;) ). When (not if, when) the excellent and crafty Stingers beat X while making it look easy, LT and the Twin will wear a ConU avatar and a bee mascot suit for a week! Or just the avatar, their choice.

Should the improbable occur, I'll wear that moldy, foul swamp-gas smelling X avatar for the next week!

With that out of the way: LT, are you and some AUS people gonna be at the PEPS for the Vanier? We're already planning the food here :).

:D :D :D

LT expected that you'd come out of the woodworks when he told me to post the ball cap story... :D ;)

When (not if) the X-Men and the other AUS teams show the Q-Tips, the OUAOUARONS and the CanOpeners that the EastCoasters really mean business this year, he'll save you the embarrassment of wearing an X Avatar. Instead, he'll modify the pic below to show a big Q above the belly button... :D

I got an update on LT's whereabouts a few minutes ago. Got a call from the Niagara Casino enquiring about the potential theft of my Amex credit card. Looks like LT is using it to gamble on MY line of credit ...

In the meantime, please disregard my comment.

Between you and me and the outhouse, smart move to include in your post:

Go Axemen!

It shows you're X-pecting them to prevail this weekend. LT will appreciate that...

A word of caution: most cheerleaders affiliated to CIS football teams are LT's nieces, a fact well documented in various threads of this forum. Ne marche pas dans ses plates bandes :D ;)

I dont normally wade into these challenges but I see so many challenges by so many fans with so many different avatars that even if I wanted to join in, I dont know what avartar I would want the losing Stinger fans to wear.

I think there needs to be ONE disgustingly humiliating avartar that all challengers to X-supremacy would have to wear.

Perhaps some of the X faithful could send around some suggestions via pm and choose an appropriate avartar that can be used by all suporters of other teams that DARE to challenge the X-Men

This place used to belong to SMU & X fans, but it looks like the SMUcks lost their foolish leaders (Spud & BJ) & the rest of them are scared to venture in due to the overwhelming presence of X fools. :D

Now that you're finally one of us, can you use your influence with your good friend CJ and ask him to move to this section the challenge threads Bizz & Phil_B dared post in the Pub. Being a 'Virgin', I need some latitude. I didnt say I was interested in risking my avatar, i was just enquiring that if I was interested there would need to be an approporiate avartar that the losers would have to wear that really represented the true worth of X supremecy.

I will risk my 'POUTY CAT' if someone wants to take it on but to be honest it is dog ugly. NOT SMUck dog ugly but none the less dog ugly.

Awright, at 0-4 it's time to face it: ConU is in a rebuilding year (don't start Marton, I know it was obvious 1 month ago...).

Still, they don't suck. Good programs don't suck, they rebuild. Though they were still dangerous and managed a 2 pts too short comeback, the much deserving X-Men won, on the road after a 10+ hours bus ride.

And X remains one of the few undefeated teams in the CIS, sharing that distinction with Western and Laval.

:) Aaaaand...

Congrats to LT and the Twin, who knew they needed a sneaky, underhand approach to get Laval fans to wear X avatars. By inspiring pity and guilt for LT's mental stability, you got us good. Well played! :D

And the irony of it? No true ConU fan took the bet! ;)

He know X managed with difficulty to win over the Stingers but he hasn't been on this forum for days.

I know the first thread he'll check will be this one. So, I arranged to have a military field ambulance set up camp in the back yard, with an anaesthetist, a cardiologist, a brain surgeon, two veterinarians a full complement of nurses and field orderlies, three defibrillators, a teaser gun, a straight jacket and a 40 pounder of the best Captain Morgan.

That's not because I fear his reaction when he sees the stack of beer cans all over the place and the piles of dirty dishes in the kitchen. Naw!!! He's used to that... :o

Hats off to TONTON, Bizz & Sebby for helping the Twin and me try to keep alive the "spirit" of Avatar Challenges. It's gonna be a long season now that soooo many of the regular challengers have "chickened out"... :(

I feel bad about missing the action in the last week & I'm grateful the Twin was there to substitute for me. Thanks, 24, for texting me the game hi-lites ;)

Nevertheless, I had a great weekend with 21 buddies at the Bills game. See if you can spot the Xpensive coach we chartered...

Of course, we tailgated before the game (from 1130 AM to 330 PM)...

... and I didn't get kicked out of the stadium this time... :o

The Bills lost miserably. About 20,000 fans left during the 3rd quarters & 30,000 more before the end of the game... The HC has to go. Imagine. Losing 20 - 7 with seven minutes left, 4th down with inches and he had them PUNT ... PHOQUE...

We made it a tradition to have a second tailgate while traffic clears up...
