Although there was already 2 games played in England this past weekend, the NHL seaon really begins tonight with a bunch of games.
So who will win the cup this season?

The Hockey News apparently can't make up their collective mind... a few weeks ago it was Anaheim and now they're saying San Jose. At least the coast is consistent.
My pre-season favourites right now are the Rangers and Sharks, with the Rangers taking it.

without knowing what experts were saying, i guessed sharks.
i picked it based on the fact that they are a southern american team that i hate. oddly enough they own the honour of being the only team that calgary has beaten thus far.

Well I didn't say they were my team :p ... just my pick. Besides you'd be surprised to know who my favorite NHL team is.
Besides as long as the HABS or Leafs don't win it ... I'll be happy.
Not Montreal.
Just making the playoffs will be a miracle.

Well, I'm a Habs fan but I like the Leafs a lot because they remind me so much of the X-Men...
It's provincial election time on OUTario, and Leaf fans are using the latest legal loopholes ... :D

Detroit. Should have beat the Ducks last year and didn't. They won't let that happen again. Not sure why they're so high on old man Hasek though. With Luongo or Kipper, they would be unbeatable.

Nope, I think it will be either the Avocats or the Comptables.

Bump just in time for the playoffs !!!
Well it certainly has been a surprising season especially on the HABS front. Never imagined them to do so well. I think that my pick (Ottawa) will probably be bounced out of the first round. However I can actually see the Penguins making the Stanley Cups finals so I'm going with them.
Gee Marton you really jinxed the HABs there :p Care to make a similar prediction about the Q conference and my Stingers ;) ;)

Habs and Sharks in final...It will go to game 7, and winner will depend on who is on the hotter streak: Kovalev or Thornton

Funny, TSN as a «EA Stanley Cup preview» in which Habs and Sharks get to the final. According to that, Sharks take it !!

Montreal over Detroit in 6.
Bear in mind that this pick comes from someone who currently dead last in the hockey pool she is running.

Washington. Making it the best way EVER to spend a 2nd round draft choice.
